@bondojoe I watched ALL of the court proceedings and I say I believe he might have drank too much at times when younger, smiley Well so did I and everyone else I knew, who didn't in the 80's, smiley But No I don't think he did it at all. A few kept asking about the FBI ..jeez they had time to do all that and plus like a couple senators said when they did have people in the room alone they were not asking questions! OH and she only answered 2 polygraph test questions and could have easily been passed because it could have pertained to anything.I hope he makes it. The Dems and libs, well most everyone were rude and never once said sorry for what your family is going through but all said it to her and she so brave to come forward after being groped 36 yrs ago blablablashe just got groped & laughed at. His whole life is ruined.

@manditoe I will point out one thing for you to consider:
Go back and review Kavanaugh's testimony.
Look at his wife's face. She's easy to pick out..she's sitting behind him, to his right.

Then google a few interviews. Look at her face as she sits there beside him.
In one interview she says she has only known him for 17 years and only manages to choke out in his defense,
"It's hard for me to believe."
...instead of...
"There is NO WAY my husband could have done this."
She looks kind of sick in a couple of them.
By not unequivocally denying his guilt, she says a lot.

But her face at the hearing, and the fact that she ignores him, avoids touching him or talking to him afterward, is significant in any woman's experience book.

NOTE: Ashley Kavanaugh is NOT the blonde carefully positioned behind him who starts weeping almost before he says anything...
Mrs. Kavanaugh has brown hair in an ear-length bob. You won't be able to miss her expression. it's riveting.

It changed twice that I observed:
When he mentions their children--she seems to be holding back tears for a moment.
When he mentions his "female law clerks" and that he has had 48 of them and has just hired 4 more as his SC law clerks---she looks down nervously, looks side to side, and then a flash of anger ...and then back to her disdainfully indifferent mask as she looks at the back of his head.

PS. You might also want to read the Yale newspaper--Yale Daily News-- account of him and the "Tits and Clit" secret society he belonged to. When his own (conservative) alma mater comes out against him, that is also telling.

I TRULY feel sorry for her along with Dr. Ford.
Both have been victimized by Brett Kavanaugh in very different ways.

@ThomasinaPaine I'LL check it out no problem. If you have the links I'll most definatly read it. As I said before I listen to all sides and what they do and say as much as possible, so I can make my own mind up. Thxx!smiley
P.S. I know exactly who his wife is, I've seen a couple interviews with them!! When her children are talked about Of course she would look sad..Jeez come on look what they've been and going through!
It sounds like as soon as you heard the news for the 1st time your mind was made up! smiley Guilty till proven innocent... what happened to Innocent till proven Guilty??
Also What happened to those 2 men that came forward and said it was them she was talking about-that was dismissed I guess, didn't fit their agenda! smiley

** P.S. Sorry for editing again. Last night I kept looking for a comment I wrote to show you, I thought it was here to Joe actually but I couldn't find it(maybe it was on youtube) anyways I actually thought that he raped her & when I found out in her testimony that she was drinking, then grouped (touched) and grinded on, as she said 36 yrs ago, well I just sat here & thought "WHAT"?? I'm sorry but it's a far cry from what they made it sound like & still are, kids do stupid things period, most grow up but many have kept a similar pattern! Before you get all hostile, I know personally through the yrs many women including ME have had similar experiences done,I honestly thought, Jeez I bet most women have had something like that done through their life & lived just fine(I've had worse and younger) and raised a Great & smart kid who won awards in High School for Highest marks in Calculus, math sciences, his school only went to grade 12 so he did a 2nd yr and added more courses of what he wanted to take extra, he missed way too many days and still got 94- 100% and I even said Josh imagine if you went all the time etc.. After he finished 6 yrs of University and is now gonna be 30 in May and he's engaged to a great girl who was going to school to be a Lawyer, He had a total of 4 girlfriend in his life(less by far than most) and the 4th being his fiance and kept his virginity way higher than boys in the days he was in school and very high to the kids today even, I'm so proud of him & glad I taught him Not to make some of the mistakes(I was honest and talked a lot with him about everything actually-so important, Parents need to talk with their children starting young) I made & others made growing up But then the 70's & 80' were a different time a great time for me though..lol I had many crappy things in my life happen, some my own fault others not my fault and some from and because of others! Anyways sorry I did get a little off topic, I was mainly trying to say they made it sound so much worse than it was and I'm not belittle what happened to her.
Anyways sorry must stop my hands are hurting, too much typing..lol.. arthritic hands.

@manditoe I'm glad you have a son you are proud of.

But Kavanaugh's backstory indicates HIS mother was closer to "Mommy, Dearest".
I understand what you are so defensive about a bit more now.
But I will tell you this:

I didn't make my mind up initially. I was sort of shocked. But I admit my GUT feeling was Trump had a backroom purpose for nominating him. (and sure enough,he does)
Trump didn't vet him at all except to find out he has said a President 'should get special privileges" and never be 'bothered' by riminal charges and/or criminal investigations of what HE does or has done."
My a-ha! moment came there. The Mueller investigation.
When charges are brought for the dozen or so illegal acts Trump is guilty of, he WOULD appeal to the Supreme Court to block impeachment and trial.
With a 5-4 CONSERVATIVE Court, he would win on POLITICS, NOT guilt or innocence.
I don't want a felon sitting in the WH and laughing at America.

I am not a Dem.
I am an Independent, liberal on some things, others maybe not. I do research. A LOT of research on both parties. That's what I do. I go for facts. NOT YOUTUBE or extreme right or left or what someone SAYS is truth.
I don't mince words. I don't equivocate. To me, a misogynist is what he is. Some guy grabbing a woman by her private parts, for example, and laughing about it...I WILL upside him with a frying pan if I see it.
I SURE AS HELL won't vote for or support the SOB.

I feel some sympathy for Kavanaugh for ONE reason:
my research tells me he IS guilty. He thought he was going to sail right on, but WAIT!
For the first time not getting what he wants, he's having a midlife crisis over that. For once in his life, he is going to have to take responsibility for his actions. Mom and Dad can't save him, and what I've read and my spidey sense tells me they have made a habit out of getting him out of 'scrapes" in his formative years and ignoring him the rest of the time.

Watching his screaming, crying meltdown was...incredible--- for a 53 year old man to behave that way.
SERIOUSLY not suited to serve on ANY bench.

@manditoe One other thought...what if these guys had assaulted a small 15 year old boy...? Like someone's sweet,good-natured son? Not raped, just scared the crap out of him thinking he would be raped, cramming a hand over his mouth that made him think he might suffocate and die...and laughed at him the whole time?
How would a mother feel about that as "no big deal" ?

@manditoe Dr Ford read her entire statement of what had transpired and was monitored the entire time by the polygraph sensors. The two questions were the final summation statement by the decades-experienced FBI Polygrapher. That she was honest and was not deflecting or lying. He believed her, based on his professional experience and the polygraph results.

@ThomasinaPaine My apologies.

I made an assumption here, that Dr. Ford was hooked up to the polygraph machine the entire time she was being interviewed. That is what I *perceived the test results which have been shared with us to mean.
But that was assumption, not fact that I had proven.
My bad.
But it suddenly occurred to me when I logged off last night... I had not confirmed the method of monitoring her body during the interview...when and how. ( Well thats's embarrassing. I try to be patient as I try to confirm anything on the internet where Google returns like dozens, hundreds, thousands, millions of links sometimes...and you go..."Whoa--Crap! Not going to be as easy as I thought" lol

That being said,
It may have been that she was hooked to the polygraph only when she was asked the two questions. I have not yet heard that stipulated, one way or the other.

But while I watched the video linked below, I immediately registered the (really bad) picture on the screen behind the host. I did not hear the interviewer -whose name I don't know --refer to it. It was just...large, out of focus on the screen behind them the entire time of the interview.
Why? I wondered.
Clearly supposed to be Christine Ford, the woman in the pic is dressed in what mentally registered as prison garb, and she is hooked up to a polygraph. The woman looks exhausted, kind of sullen.
First, I wondered why a pic like that would even be made available to the public. Then I wondered if it actually was Christine Ford, as the facial features were blurry and it was taken from the side. I didn't remember seeing that side of Her face while she was testifying so the who and why of having that picture backscreened was unclear.

If anyone out there can analyze that picture, I'd like to hear about it and see how it would be parsed to prove yea or nay. I'm curious about things generally.

Here's a link to a FoxNews interview with the FBI agent who administered the test to Christine Ford. Maybe you'll see or hear something I didn't in regard to when she was actually hooked up to the machine during her interview...and what that pic is about.

@ThomasinaPaine Correction: Blurry Woman is only intermittently backscreened for the first few minutes of the video.
Also -this is important for you guys who maybe glance at a screen or a summary and don't bother to watch the video----
A very misleading banner at the bottom of the screen is displayed most of the interview, maybe all of it... I couldn't bring myself to watch it through YET AGAIN...lol:

First it displayed :

"FORD POLYGRAPH RESULTS RELEASED
KAVANAUGH ACCUSER ONLY ASKED TWO QUESTIONS"

as if that meant a great deal, although the agent carefully explained standard protocol followed under the rules of whoever sets professional polygraph administration standards.( didn't note the organization's name as he mentioned this, sorry)

That was displayed for a considerable time in the banner.

Then it was replaced by:

"""FORD KEY DETAILS APPEARS TO CONTRADICT PREVIOUS STATEMENTS.***
FOX ALERT!

But nowhere in this video were allegations, statements or even a mild implication made by the Agent to that effect. He was factual and direct when she began this line of questioning.

I noticed the attempts to lead the interview but I won't bother to list them, which, had it been other than Fox, I would not have expected, given the actual report having been released.

The Blurry Woman pic was displayed as the show opened, for about 8 seconds, behind Shannon or Shane
( name not tagged on screen for us non-Foxites smiley.

Pic was next displayed behind the agent for 11 seconds at the beginning of his response to the host's first question about how he got involved.
The rest of the video was him explaining the test details pretty clearly and thoroughly, with her occasionally trying unsuccessfully to lead him in one direction or another. It was her job as she saw it to pick it apart, I guess, but he did not go there that I picked up on, was very informative about process and neutral in his delivery. Very professional.
The video link is labeled "clips".
I haven't come across what is identified as the whole FBI Agent interview video then, if that is correct.

I don't think it's a question of innocent or guilty. He was very young and so was she and they did stuff that such do when they're young.

I guess there was a lot of fumbling and alcohol involved. And I'm pretty sure there was some flirting and posturing.

It's all part of growing up, the way we learn to interact with each other. How else do we understand boundaries and needs?

And when younger we like a bit of danger, a dare, something a bit risky, naughty stuff, even getting our fingers burned.

The real problem is dredging this up so many years later. It's almost ancient history but suddenly she feels its important?

Of course she's playing politics, using her almost unprovable accusation as a smear bomb. And the danger in doing so is she makes it hard for others.

Thus when there's a genuine case, a real concern, something substantial to investigate, so many will look and laugh and say oh dear hear we go again.

@Crutchbender Well your point was absurd.
We are talking of a time when character is built.
I would have respected him FAR more if he had confessed and made a cogent argument about having realized his errors over the years.
But it was clear from his bizarre "performance" ---waffling between what could easily have been construed as coke-driven agitation (with all that sniffing) and fury to weepy, irrational incoherent crying in his water.
It's interesting to note that a LOT of his peers from that time, more drinking buddies, Yale Law and the Yale newspaper itself decided to shine a little more light on who Kavanaugh really WAS during that period with statements and articles and letters.

in addition, current-time peers--the 400,000 member American Bar Association--- also came out in favor of an FBI investigation.
Maybe he can explain to them under oath how exactly he was "learning to interact" with a 15-year-old girl.

@fortunate1 Damn...cognitive disability strikes again.

Rachel Mitchell, the declared 'official' interrogator--who initially clearly was being mildly accusatory in almost every question-- was not being nearly as vicious as the 11 old white guys wanted her to be.
Dr. Ford's truth was unshakable.
Regardless, it was a surprise to all when Prosecutor Mitchell --- initially identified (I again remind you) as the supposed "only questioner" and who was expected to question Kavanaugh too but never did--- was suddenly "disappeared" for no reason given.
She may have voluntarily withdrawn.
For whatever reason, she was no longer with us.

She had obviously believed Dr. Ford's testimony and had not had the stomach to try and rip her apart for telling the truth.
It's difficult to question someone who is obviously and undeniably distraught ...AND WHO, btw, was never given the periodic "breaks" Kavanaugh, in his hysterical presentation, was gifted with.

As a woman and mother of two daughters, I do not think he did it!
Over 30 years is a loooooooong time to come forward with accusations of this kind!
My teenage daughter was stalked and harassed by a boy her age. Never touched her, but sent nasty pictures, showed up everywhere she went, and was just plain disgusting and perverted.
We went to the police and reported it. We went to the school and reported it!
They were unlikely to do something because of his age back then, but guess what....
He is still eating lunch with the janitor and can't even be on the same floor as my daughter at school.
We left a paper trail and made sure there was a file about his behavior!
The next girl he goes after (and he will! he is a predator in the making) has my daughters paper trail as a backup for her accusations!
No matter if it happens tomorrow, next year or 35 years from now!

@Vhplac Psychatrists say that people that do this kind of thing don't stop. That they just keep escalating, until they get caught. I believe that, because the prisons are full of them. If Kavenaugh was like that as a youth, he would still be that way. He would be worse. I think it's clear to everyone what happened here. There are people that hate Trump so much, that they will do ANYTHING to stop him. They said that they would. I bet that the man that stalked your daughter is charged and convicted of something. And I bet it won't be long!

@Vhplac Help me understand.
You relate a situation wherein your daughter was stalked. She was not sexually assaulted. She was not at a party where alcohol was being imbibed, one in which you would have been very angry to hear about. her stalker provided lots of proof he was stalking her. What he did occurred in lots of daylight hours over a period of time, with witnesses.

You didn't mention how old your daughter was, so no correlation there can be established. If she was 13 for example...much more mom-attached and probably she would not find herself in Christine Ford's specific situation until later in life.

She was, fortunately, never assaulted you say, she never met the guy alone somewhere and he never tried to assault her or touch her. Lucky.

His behavior occurred over a protracted length of time. You had picture proof of "sext" bullying. Other people were aware of it.
It appears you are comparing oranges to apples, as they say.
Christine was 15 and at a party her parents would not have approved of. Lots of us did things like that, never realizing the harm that could come to us. Even though she knew the people there and there was no 'stranger danger' type threat and she saw them at the pool and other places regularly, she was assaulted.
She was attacked in private, no witnesses save one, no convenient photos-- no cell phones back then-- no other persons around except her attackers.

Two separate scenarios entirely.

There's a clip of a training class which Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell gave as she was instructing investigators of child sexual assault. Sorry, I tried to find it again but time constraints prohibit that, since there's a lot out there on her now.
Anyway, she tells the classroom a child who was sexually assaulted (Ford was a child at the time) MAY sometimes confide in an adult at the time, but often will only speak of it many years later... and sometimes will never ever tell anyone what happened.
Sad cases in point, the thousands of victims of child assault and molestation by Catholic priests who never spoke out until they were adults..some of them very late in life.
It;s important to understand that tens of thousands of victims have never and WILL never speak of it because they consider it THEIR shame and not the perpetrators.

Ms. Mitchell explains the children think that somehow, someway, it is their fault that someone brutalized them.

I matured young. I had a large bosom. Men and boys were constantly coming on to me from an early age. Moronically, men ASSUMED because I had large breasts I was 'easy' or 'willing' and "ready' even at age 11.
They actually made me ashamed of my body for a long time.

It's amazing how women back then...and NOW---somehow fall into the 'it's my fault, I must have done something' when a man violates them in any way.

The way women are thoughtlessly condemning this woman for being a victim, they are perpetuating the male-designated assumption that--whatever they did to her, it was 'her fault' for being too ashamed of it happening to her to speak out.

Is that the message you want to pass on to your daughters? Condemn the victim because she was afraid to speak out?

Please don't be that kind of woman.

@ThomasinaPaine I'm 67 and just for the first time, told a friend about another friend who-you know-when I was 15.. it took 42 years..
Thanks for being the voice of reason and real information instead of made up stuff parroted from people who'd rather blame the victim than believe the pain and confusion of someone speaking out about a man being questioned before decisions are made about one of the most important positions in US govt.. If that judge isn't balanced and honest, it will tear the country apart worse than it already is..

@ThomasinaPaine My daughter was 16. Built like a 20 year old, very, very mature looking!
Shame on her tho that she avoided running into her stalker alone! Shame on her that he only played with his privates while sitting in the chair next to her and did not rub up against her! Because only then would she be a victim in the eyes of people like you!
Shame on her for staying away from parties where minors drink and get high! Because it seems this kind of stuff is only legit when it happens at parties!
And how dare did she do the right thing, stood up for herself and others and reported what was going on! Making known that the boy is a danger to the females around him! She should have waited till something happened, then stay quiet about it for a few decades (giving him enough time to victimize other women) before opening her mouth!
And how odd that nobody NOBODY treated her like it was her fault or gave her the feeling that she has to be ashamed! Not her family and friends, not the faculty, not the police, NOBODY!!!

@Vhplac At no time did I say your daughter was not victimized. I was comparing the CIRCUMSTANCES of the two assaults, not saying one was a victim and the other not.

Fortunately, your daughter was not physically assaulted and traumatized even more horribly. I surely feel that sort of sexual harassment is very MUCH a crime and she was victimized.
My point, as I feel you already knew when you wrote this response, was that one attack was public, the other private... thus comparing
'oranges and apples' when it came to proving it occurred.

The point I was making, to clarify, was that HER victimization was not done in private. It was publicly out there for people to see. The guy could NOT have denied it occurred.

Whereas,
Dr Ford was secretly accosted by two boys, upstairs, away from the eyes of other people, no witnesses to her assault except three people.

KAVANAUGH has lied over and over about his guilt

--but until the FBI takes his statement, he is NOT under oath, as has been noted.
He is not LEGALLY held liable for what he says.

IF he swears under oath he is 'innocent', he is committing the crime of lying to the FBI.

Mark Judge, his accomplice, has been hiding out at a friend's house in Delaware all this time.
Contrary to Kavanaugh's deceptive assertions, Mark Judge did NOT issue a "sworn statement" that Kavanaugh is innocent. Mark Judge just said he "didn't remember" in a letter written by his attorney.

If you for some reason WANT to view what I wrote as an attack against your daughter or an "UN-victimization" of her experience, then I can't stop you.
FORTUNATELY, it was not such a horrific physical assault trauma for her as what Dr. Ford experienced.
As a survivor of rape myself, I am very glad she was not traumatized as badly as she might have been, had the circumstances been different.

@ThomasinaPaine I can tell you about being a victim! A rape survivor!
I can tell you what it is like when a man forces himself upon a 13 yo. girl!
I can tell you about that girl not missing a beat and telling her family, the local police and the military police, a judge and a filled court room.
I can tell you how the girl went through hell and back, but was well aware that it was not her fault and that it had to be done.
I can tell you about how the girl built up her self esteem just to find out her rape resulted in pregnancy.
I can tell you how the girl gave birth to healthy twins 8 months later.
I can tell you how the 14 yo. girl dealt with being a mother and a student.
I can tell you how the 14 yo. decided to raise her kids and love them with all her heart!
I can tell you how she managed it quite well while finishing school, college, starting a career.
I can tell you how she managed to get her life on track, marry a great guy and have a few more kids with him.
I can tell you how that girl blames ONE MAN for what happened to her, but refused to make it define her life.
I can tell you that her speaking up, got a predator behind bars and away from society.
She is not ashamed! She does not feel guilty and nobody can make her feel that way!
A 13 yo. child was able to speak up! Did not wait!
That child is proud to have raised her sons to respect women, her daughters to be aware of dangers, proud and strong.
And to speak up when someone needs to speak up!
Not to care what people might think when they do so!
I do think of myself as a strong woman who is raising strong women! I truly believe from the bottom of my heart, that if you speak up, right away, you do more than look for justice and/or revenge! You protect the women and girls that might be the next in line!
You do not give a predator decades to potentially hurt others the way you got hurt! Even if you yourself are not successful, they will believe the next one!
As a survivor of rape, I am ecstatic about my daughter not being traumatized and able to do what she did!
My twins are 26 now.
I can tell you exactly where the assault happened, at what time, who was around, how the air smelled, I can tell you the color of the wallpaper, I can tell you the names of every single person I met that day and what they were wearing! I can tell you every single detail of that day and the following ones.
I am not saying that Ford missed her chance!
I don't think it happened!

@Vhplac I"m sorry for your trauma. I commend your speaking up.
You sound as of you were braver than many.
I told no one in authority.
I bore the shame of thinking it was my fault somehow, for many years.

Different people, different circumstances, different ways of reacting.

Exactly what Rachel Mitchell said in her training classes. "Some children will speak out right away. Most will not. It may come out many years later. Or they may never tell anyone...ever."

On what basis, then, can one assume because Dr. Ford had a different personality, under different circumstances, at a different age, reacted differently, and that she was not victimized?

I have to fall back on my God-given common sense, learned ability to read people, and logic---not my political leanings.

@ThomasinaPaine CORRECTION: ALTHOUGH KAVANAUGH WAS NOT REMINDED that he was under oath during his most recent interview, theoretically he WAS, but people more often get away with lying to Congress than lying to the FBI. Might even have been done deliberately to give him an 'out' on a technicality.

As someone who was slandered and accused of a horrible act I would never commit and who had to defend myself against these allegations, even though I was found not guilty, it really almost ruined my life. People unfortunately believe that "where there is smoke, there must be fire". That is such an ignorant way of thinking. I feel so bad for Kavanaugh and his family. His life will never be the same and it is disgusting what lengths people will go to in order to hurt others, fueled by hatred.
Any person of a sound mind can see what is happening here. It is bullsh*t and like others already mentioned in the comments above, it has been said on many occasion by many that they will stop at nothing in order to bring down Trump.
This is a prime example of just that. Slander can and will destroy people. I know this first hand.

@laylo I don't know how to begin to respond to your factless assumption of his innocence and that you are so willing to condemn this woman for being silent and ashamed of being a victim... so I won't bother.
I will point out one thing for you to consider:

Mrs. Kavanaugh has brown hair in a short bob.

Ford.
I think both have been victimized by Brett Kavanaugh, in very different ways.

@laylo Trump will stop at nothing. His behavior as a human being is deplorable on ALL levels. He had a plan to cover his OWN ass and he could care less about Kavanaugh or if he gets bumped. He has other candidates, but none that was a malleable and vulnerable as this man, who is DESPERATE to get this position and "prove himself". That was painfully obvious to anyone who watched his weepy, erratic display of uncontrolled temper as he literally followed Trump's instructions' to be more bombastic, angrier, more forceful.
So easy to manipulate...and his actions were embarrassingly ridiculous.

He honestly struck me to begin with as behaving like someone on cocaine or amphetamine, especially with his constant sniffing....
K was picked as a pawn. Mueller and the charges he is preparing to being against Trump constitute the real issue.
It stuns me that so many of his supporters cannot see the manipulator at work.
Trump creepily reminds me of Karl Rove in his backroom underhandedness during the Bush-Gore election.
And the similarities will not stop there, I fear.

REpubs already eliminated the filibuster.
They couldn't REALLY block the Energizer Bunny from being put on the SC...they are outnumbered.
They just didn't want someone who is a) so right-leaning he will fall off the bench unless he wears a seatbelt or b) is a sexual predator.
Kavanaugh turned out to be both.
HE has already been proven A LIAR on several things.
Birds of a feather choose other birds of their ilk to hang out with.

And if the House flips Dem and the Senate balance is upset, more power to them. THAT MEANS MORE AMERICANS VOTED and the majority are chiming in, are now aware of the damage being done to our country at home and globally, and are trying to stop Trump and the spineless GOP from trashing our economy to benefit the elite. smiley

When women accused Bill Clinton of raping them most Dems and many others refused to believe them.

Hilary even dumped on the women in question massively. They were lampooned, laughed at, disbelieved, discredited, and accused of lying, etc. etc. Ultimately Billy Boy get off with rape but even weirder to this day Hilary is still his wife!!

The women who accused Clinton didn't even have a political agenda. Thus they had no political motive, no ideological axe, no crusade, no nothing. They were just speaking up for themselves.

Fast forward to today and the woman accusing this wannabe Judge is believed totally and unconditionally by all the Dems especially Hilary!! Yes Mrs I'm married to a rapist believes the woman accusing Kavanagh but still insists Bill didn't rape anyone!

Incredible stuff!! Even more incredible, the Clinton rape accusations were fresh and current, quite recent history whereas in contrast the supposed stuff they're talking about now happened nearly 40 years ago!!!

Is it all some kind of parody I ask myself? Is this being cooked up to show just how ludicrous progressives and Dems really are? I mean, you couldn't make this stuff up. Such hysteria. If it were movie no one would have it.

@Crutchbender That is why we must act every time sexual assault occurs.

NO ONE wanted another sexual predator in office. Unfortunately, we have one.
Nonetheless,
victims cannot and will not be forced back into the shadows of oppressive patriarchy.

#MeToo is making inroads where there were none during Clinton's era as Governor or his tenure as President.
Hillary was the quintessential "denier" and enabler. It's one reason I would never, ever vote for her. She was.is a REALLY bad role model for young women.
She stayed with Bill only because that was the plan. Him first, then her. But she was verifiably unbalanced by the time her turn came, imo.

After Clarence Thomas showed how we were actually backsliding, we realized how little real progress had been made in recognizing and punishing sex crimes. Women realized if you want to be treated with respect, just unite...and don't take it anymore.
We have to work at it..men are going to FIGHT the emancipation of women. NO question.
Women need to learn to document and record offensive behavior, and note witnesses. and speak up. With one voice.

@Crutchbender Clearly you get your 'news' exclusively from Fox. Just a Whirly says, we are still 'short' some 100k docs and papers on Kavanaugh's background. What is being hidden? We're finding out right now.
The FBI is going to shake your world. His peers in the ABA, in Yale Law School, and the Yale newspaper say he should be investigated based on their knowledge of him, that he is a liar.
Dozens of his classmates are reaching out and testifying to the FBI...and they know they will be held liable for lying under oath to the FBI.
You can't be much more fearlessly credible than that.
His 'honor' is an illusion he has perpetrated, superimposed it on who he really is...a bully, a whiner, and a privileged white boy who has gotten away with crap all his life. And now he is being found out.
The day is coming soon that the Trump mesmerism will fail and it will seem as if you are coming out of a dream state. You will see that Trump is exactly the same kind of ignoble cretin as Kavanaugh. Worse even.
You will be unable to believe you have been conned into accepting behaviors that you would never have tolerated from the men who sit around your own kitchen table, perhaps only because he called himself a republican when he was actually a despot-in-the-making who already confuses himself with the state, does not allow people to speak out against the leadership, and really wants them to have no freedom at all.

When that happens I will not call you to account, I will applaud you.

I had an auditory image of what I thought her voice would sound like and how she’d speak. If I hadn’t heard her speak, I’d still be an on-the-fence person about her full veracity, but now I am convinced she is telling the truth and I felt her fear and pain and vulnerability. You can’t fake that. She’s not an actress. She’s just like me. She sounded no different than what I would sound like having to do that, and I can remember 35 years ago a lot better than I can remember last year or even last month. Yes. I believe her. I think I am a year or two older than her, and our cohort group is a small, odd one. We weren’t the bra burners and we weren’t really the next generation free spirits shouting out to the world that women can be powerful. There aren’t a lot of us, like the hordes of baby boomers, so I also think that what we experienced and how things were and were not for women is neither really very well understood, nor much cared about. Heaven help us if this were a noisy baby boomer. They refuse to “get old” and 65 is the new 25, doncha know? 😒

@bondojoe Well I am terrified of flying and spiders. I have to plan way ahead to fly and drug myself, even though I am also terrified that I won’t be able to think or move quickly enough if something happens and the drugs are working too well. So I didn’t even flinch about the flying issue. It makes complete sense to me. I LOVE travelling. I have taken buses and trains to try to avoid flying, but I was hit by a drunk driver, so crazy bus rides aren’t a lot less stressful for me. I WILL make myself fly if I can’t avoid it, and that includes vacations and what I did for work, but it is a HUGE ordeal doing it. It’s never just “grab a flight” in a day or two or even a week. It takes time and mental planning. Is it nutty? Hell yes, but it’s the way my brain is. And I have friends who are worse than me, I am the “brave” one when we’ve flown together. I can’t change it. I take a beta blocker now, so I am quite a bit better than I was in my teens-40s, but it’s still a big hurdle of mental planning everytime I fly. Sometimes I have cancelled my flight home or delayed it...a couple of times. Had a bad flight in and just couldn’t quite get back on a plane after only a few days. And there are airports I hate landing at. Logan in Boston, Barbados (never again), and I think it’s Dulles that freaked me out once. It was so bad that I made my husband drive us to Philly. We went home from PHL instead. Also a couple of our airports in the Okanagan in BC are horrible to take off from. So one direction only is also nothing that is odd to me or anyone who hates and fears flying, My Uncle flew as a captain and check pilot for over 40 years. I called him EVERYTIME I had to take any plane anywhere.

@bondojoe I have to go back and watch the parts of the -whatever that was called- deposition? that I may have zoned out on. I don’t think it was a party. We had “things”. Like you’d go somewhere you thought everyone was going to be. Sometimes there were several “things” going on so, then the smaller, less fun “things” would break up and people would find each other. I believe this was a failed attempt at a “thing”. I didn’t go to any “things” until I could drive, and then I had a ‘76 Nova, so I drove many to several “things”. I have to go back again to the part where she talks about leaving and rewatch that. It wasn’t a planned “thing”, it was like most of our “things”...accidental gatherings that happened because people actually showed up. One time I was not having a party or even a “thing” and the whole hockey team showed up, and I was 15 and they were all over 19 (legal age here). Whoops. Let me look at her talking about the exiting. 😊

The moment he lied about The Devil's Triangle being a drinking game, was the moment I was sure he is not cut out for the Supreme Court.

@1bmwdrvr1 So you know it wasn't a drinking game in his neighborhood 35 years ago? How very enlightened of you.

@fortunate1 How "very dimwitted" of you to make your reply a snarky personal affront, instead of responding to the query. Over 35 yrs. ago it was also known as an Eiffel Tower. Why do I know this? I'll tell the next time I am about to be appointed to the SCOTUS for life.

@fortunate1 Your initial Snark "how very enlightened of you", deserved the equally snarky "dimwitted" descriptor.

Thankfully the Democras showed their agendas when talking to Dr fox. No highlighting her inconsistencies just showering praise over and over and telling her how brave she is every single minute of their alloted time. I may not be a hypocritical left sheep but I was always believed that someone was innocent until proven guilty...and someone making claims should at least be able to have a consistent story, let alone have at least one of the people you named be able to support your claim.

Shame she can't be dragged through the courts for slander amongst other things if this gets dismissed by the FBI.

This is now beyond laughable. Everyone has known from the start the Ford thing is a Dem strategy to keep control of the Supreme Court. Thus it's nothing more than a desperate, non-democratic power grab by the Dems, not to mention also morally obscene and dishonest.

Time to call it a day now and get down to some real business. Place Ford on Suicide Watch for she is very likely to jump off a tall building due to all the shame she's brought on herself and her family. Locking her up might even be for her own good. The sooner the better.

@Crutchbender I couldn't agree more. She was insane BEFORE the Libs got her to jump through the hoops. Now she's REALLY in trouble.

Apparently now Ford's ex has said she has helped others prepare for polygraphs a few years ago. Seems like this liars claims are unraveling at the seems.
